Five coaches of a passenger train overturned in the vicinity of Sarılar Quarter between Tekirdağ's Muratlı and Çorlu sub-provinces. There were 24 fatalities and 338 injured persons in the accident. One citizen who had been in one of the overturned coaches said, "Everything happened in five or six seconds and everyone began screaming..."
